Ostenso ("we," "us," "Ostenso") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it.

Information we collect

You give us

  • Name, email, shipping and billing address, phone (when checking out or creating an account)
  • Payment information (handled by Shopify Payments; we never store your full card number)
  • Subscription preferences, product choices, and any messages you send us
  • Review content, photos, or testimonials you submit

We collect automatically

  • Pages visited, products viewed, cart additions, time on site (via Shopify analytics + Google Analytics)
  • Device info (browser, OS, IP, approximate location)
  • Cookies and similar tracking — see our Cookie Policy

From third parties

  • Ad platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok) sometimes share aggregate audience data with us
  • Klaviyo, our email partner, returns engagement data (opens, clicks)
  • Our fulfillment partner (Supliful) shares delivery confirmation

How we use it

  • Fulfill and ship your orders
  • Manage your subscription (billing, modifications, cancellations)
  • Provide customer support
  • Send transactional emails (order, shipping, account)
  • Send marketing emails if you opted in — you can unsubscribe anytime
  • Improve our products and site based on aggregate usage
  • Show you relevant ads on other platforms (you can opt out — see below)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, regulatory)

Who we share it with

  • Shopify — hosts the store, processes payments, stores order data
  • Supliful — our white-label manufacturer and fulfillment partner; receives your shipping name and address
  • Shipping carriers — USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL (depending on destination)
  • Klaviyo — email marketing platform
  • Meta, Google, TikTok — for advertising; aggregate / hashed data when possible
  • Customer support tools — Gmail, Slack (internal use)
  • Legal/regulatory bodies — only when required by law (subpoena, court order)

We don't sell your personal information for money. Some sharing with ad platforms (Meta, Google) may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under California law (CCPA/CPRA) — you can opt out at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we have about you
  • Correction — fix inaccurate data
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements, e.g., tax records)
  • Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from emails via the link in any message
  • Opt-out of ad tracking — use our Your Privacy Choices page
  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format (EU/UK residents)
  • Lodge a complaint — with your local data-protection authority

Data retention

We keep order records as long as needed for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes (typically 7 years). Marketing-list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Customer-support emails are kept up to 3 years. Browsing/analytics data is kept up to 26 months.

Security

We use Shopify's PCI-DSS-compliant payment infrastructure. Site traffic is TLS-encrypted. We restrict access to personal data to staff who need it. No system is 100% secure — if a data breach affects you, we'll notify you within 72 hours where required.

International transfers

Our servers are operated by Shopify in the United States and Canada. If you order from outside the US, your data will be transferred internationally. We rely on Shopify's standard contractual clauses and other approved transfer mechanisms.

Children

Our products and site are for adults 18+. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days. Continued use after the change indicates acceptance.
